Jack London (1876 - 1916) - US adventurer, author, & sailor
Jack London was one of the most widely acclaimed American authors of the late 19th century, who wrote THE CALL OF THE WORLD and over 50 other such masterpieces. Essentially self educated, he was pioneer in the then-burgeoning world of commercial magazine fiction who made a huge financial success from writing.
Jack London was fortunate enough in the timing of his writing career. His career took a strong start as he started just as new printing technologies enabled lower cost production of magazines. A socialist right from the age of 20, his socialism came straight from his heart and his life experience. His socialist viewpoint, though, was evident in almost all his writings, but, it was the most predominant in his novel THE IRON STEEL.
